Sipcam Nichino expands portfolio with six planned launches

Company invests in the development of new management practices…
With sustained growth in Brazil in recent harvests, the Italian-Japanese company Sipcam Nichino announces that it plans to introduce at least six agrochemicals to the local market by 2026. According to agronomist Eric Ono, product and crop portfolio manager, the investments will mainly target crops such as soybeans, sugarcane, corn, cotton, and wheat. Ono anticipates that the company also intends to strengthen its biostimulant platform.

According to Ono, the 2026 launches are expected to begin in March and continue through September. He reveals that Sipcam Nichino also expects to announce a series of expansions to the labels of strategic agrochemicals in its portfolio.

“We remain focused on broadly meeting the needs of farmers in a wide variety of crops, especially in essential areas such as seed treatment, pre-emergent soybean herbicides, biostimulants, and multisite fungicides.” According to Ono, Sipcam Nichino Brasil’s current portfolio includes more than 45 inputs, including fungicides, herbicides, ripeners, insecticides, acaricides, biostimulants, and seed treatment solutions.

Recent investments

In recent years, the executive continues, Sipcam Nichino has brought significant innovations to the country, such as the biostimulant platform formed by the brands Abyss®, Blackjak®, Nutex® Premium, and Stilo® Verde. “We have invested in a new concept, that of crop biostimulation, by offering solutions for different crops. These products transfer gains linked to plant health, combating water stress, nutrient absorption, and productivity,” he comments.

According to Ono, in 2024 and 2025, Sipcam Nichino invested heavily in the development of agrochemicals described as “disruptive.” One of the results of this effort, the agronomist explains, was the launch of the insecticide Fiera®, which is gaining increasing acceptance in citrus and corn crops. In the former, for example, it has become a strategic tool for managing the citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri), an insect vector of ‘greening’ in orange groves.

In corn, Ono continues, “Fiera® revolutionized the control of corn leafhoppers” (Daubulus maidis). The product acts to break the cycle of the young stages of the insects, “with highly effective action on eggs and nymphs.”

Still on the subject of corn, Ono adds that Sipcam Nichino innovated in 2025 by launching the herbicide Click® Pro, which contains the compounds terbuthylazine and mesotrione. “It provides superior control of broadleaf weeds and grasses, with a long residual effect after crop emergence, including on hard-to-control species resistant to glyphosate and atrazine.”

Created in Brazil in 1979, Sipcam Nichino is the result of a merger between the Italian company Sipcam Oxon, founded in 1946, which specializes in agrochemicals and biostimulants, and the Japanese company Nihon Nohyaku (Nichino). Nichino became Japan’s first agrochemical company in 1928, and since its arrival on the market, it has focused on innovation and the development of new molecules for crop protection.
