Agricultural markets started Tuesday with moderate movements, following an external scenario of recovery after recent corrections. According to TF Agroeconômica, the opening of the day reflects improved risk appetite in global markets, influenced by the appreciation of precious metals and more favorable signs in the macroeconomic environment.
The trade agreement announced between the United States and India helped ease tensions in international trade, with a positive impact on emerging markets. At the same time, futures on the main US stock indexes traded moderately higher, while the dollar weakened slightly and oil continued to adjust downward, reducing short-term inflationary pressures.
In the wheat market, Chicago contracts recorded small fluctuations in a session marked by low activity. The appreciation of the dollar against the euro since last week limits the competitiveness of US exports, while concerns persist about possible damage to crops in the Black Sea region due to a cold snap. In the Brazilian physical market, prices in Paraná fell slightly on a daily and monthly basis.
Soybeans followed the general improvement in agricultural commodities, with gains in Chicago, mainly sustained by the strong appreciation of soybean oil, which led the gains in the complex. Private estimates continue to revise Brazilian production upward, with projections close to 181 million tons, while the harvest progresses consistently in the country. In the physical market, export bases showed weakness, with Brazilian and Argentine meal behaving differently.
Corn also traded slightly higher, driven by position protection after recent declines, strong US exports, and lack of moisture in Argentina. In Brazil, the latest data indicate progress in the planting of the second crop and gradual progress in the harvest of the first crop, keeping the market attentive to production conditions.
